Today we headed to Little American Falls just north of Effie to check out the view. It's a great spot for summer or fall picnics with benches and campfire pits scattered near the river. The river edges are sandy and the last time we visited there was a deer relaxing right by the water. Two sets of stairs get visitors down the steepest incline and then small paths wind around near the base of the river. At this time of year we slipped and slided around in the mucky clay which was an adventure itself! Check out this neat spot next summer, it may even turn out to be a great swimming hole!
